I got this sitting frog from my mom many Christmases ago. Something about him just made me smile. The idea came to me in late 1999 that I could dress him up for New Years and have a sign that said “Merry Millennium.” I got lots of positive comments that started me thinking about what I could do in February. Of course, Valentine’s Day. And so, Mr. Frog was off and running. He still sits on my wall today! To read more about the adventures of Mr. Frog, visit his website at http://mrfrog.net/.
My Travels
Enjoying a gelato in Siena!
Traveling is another love of mine. I have been blessed to be able to travel with my grown daughter on some wonderful international trips. There’s nothing like foreign travel to get your juices flowing and to broaden your horizons. I’m always learning something new.
Our first trip was to Lucca, Italy, where we rented a house. While there, we took some day trips to Florence and Siena. Here I am enjoying a strawberry gelato in Siena.
Another trip we took was to Costa Rica. We had a great house there with a pool. Very laid back vacation. Below is our guide Gus on the boat tour through the Palo Verde National Park. Since my daughter majored in French, she especially enjoyed our trip to France, to St. Remy-de-Provence. It was a big help that she could speak French. (I took Spanish) Here we are at one of our wineries on our day-long tour. Our guide Francois was fabulous.

Our latest trip was to Greece this past September. What a trip that was. We spent several days in Athens, and did some sight-seeing. Here we are at the Acropolis in front of the Temple of Zeus. After Athens, we went to the island of Santorini and enjoyed Kamari Beach for a couple of days. Our last stop was Oia (prounounced E-yah). It was a beautiful, picturesque spot for sure. Here’s one of the sunsets that draws crowds every night.
